The fascinating and intense Young Leadership Program by StrategEast is underway. During their third day in Washington, D.C., the participants visited The U. S. Capitol, exchanged views about challenges in their countries with U.S. Congressmen Rep. Steve Chabot and Rep. Scott Perry, Congressman David Trone ; Daniel Silverberg, National Security Advisor for the Office of Congressman Steny Hoyer, and Damian Murphy, Senior Professional Staff Member on the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations focused on Europe and South and Central Asia.
Young deputy ministers of Eurasian and Baltic countries also discussed the role of think tanks in public policy, the interaction between government and think tanks with William Pomeranz, Deputy Director of Kennan Institute.
Stephen Nix, Regional Program Director for Eurasia at International Republican Institute (IRI), shared best practices of IRI’s programs in Eurasian states.
