World Bank to assist Armenia to modernize tourism infrastructure

Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Avag Avanesyan had a meeting  today with representatives of the World Bank to look into the implementation of a loan program called “Local Economy and Infrastructure Development,” the ministry said.

It said the parties discussed the details of a program designed to create new  and restore previously operating tourism infrastructure in order to make them and the surrounding areas more attractive for tourists. The need to involve  new tourist sites, attractive from the point of view of tourism, was noted.

The parties were said to have agreed to finalize and clarify the process of implementing the program’s components and the subprograms.
