World Bank signs agreements with Uzbekistan on increasing energy efficiency, modernization of heating infrastructure and more

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Word Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC. President of the World Bank Group Jim Yong Kim welcomed the Head of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Cooperation between Uzbekistan and World Bank covers such spheres as energy, irrigation and modernization of utilities sector, development of transport and social infrastructure, processing agricultural products. The joint program of cooperation until 2020 includes 27 important projects worth 4 billion dollars.

At the meeting, agreements were signed in such fields as development of horticulture, improvement of the system of emergency medical care, increasing the energy efficiency of industrial enterprises, modernization of heating network, financial advisory services.

New prospective projects were discussed and proposals were made on further expansion of cooperation.

Thereupon, the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States of America has ended.
