Five villages of Georgia’s Gardabani municipality will soon be supplied with safe drinking water thanks to a World Bank-supported project that will benefit 35,000 families in Gardabani.
The total cost of the project is 17,600,000 GEL (about $7.19m/€6.04m*) and will cover the following villages of Gardabani: Norio, Martkopi, Akhalsopeli, Akhal Samgori and Vaziani.
Families living in these villages will have 24 hours water supply.
Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said that over 100 projects of water supply have been implemented in Georgia that benefited about 200,000 people. Over 470 million GEL (about $192.23m/€161.44m*) was spent on these projects, as the PM said.
Currently, more than 30 projects are being implemented and 300,000 more people will have access to the constant water supply.
“By 2021 half a million people will not face the 24-hours water supply problems any more”, said Kvirikashvili.
