The World Bank backs Go Highway project to link Ukrainian and Polish ports

Ukraine has launched implementation of the Go Highway project to link Ukrainian and Polish ports with the support of the World Bank. Director of Investment Policy and International Relations Department of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Hanna Yurchenko stated this during the Polish Business Days in Ukraine forum, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The cooperation between Poland and Ukraine in the field of road construction has improved significantly. Currently, the Ukravtodor and the Infrastructure Ministry develops the Go Highway project expected to link Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea and Polish ports in the Baltic Sea. This project is supported by the World Bank, and we began to prepare a feasibility study with World Bank’s backing,” Yurchenko said.

According to her, the repair works began almost on half of the length of this route on the territory of Ukraine at the expense of the state budget in 2017. “The repair works will be continued next year, and already in a few years we will start full-scale construction of the road, bypassing settlements,” Yurchenko noted.
