World Bank to allocate $200 million for energy-saving technologies in Uzbekistan

The leadership of the World Bank has given a permission to prepare additional financing in the amount of $200 million for implementation of the project on increasing energy efficiency of the industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Economy reported.

The request will be submitted for approval of the Board of Directors of the Bank in January 2018.

The additional loan on introduction of the energy-saving technologies in industrial production is envisaged by the President’s decree on measures for further expansion of financial cooperation with the World Bank. The document approved the plan of measures for implementation of investment projects with participation of the World Bank in 2016-2020.

The project on increasing energy efficiency of industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan is implemented with participation of the International Development Association (IDA), uz24.uz reports.
