A Technopark of software products and information technologies will be created in Uzbekistan.
The government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On measures to create a technology park of software products and information technologies” on 10 January.
The document notes that the Ministry for Development of Information Technology and Communications of Uzbekistan reached an agreement with the Society of Software Technology Parks under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India to create a technology park during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India in September 2018.
According to the resolution, Technopark will create favorable conditions for development and production of competitive products and services in the field of information technologies, their promotion in the domestic and foreign markets, stimulation of innovative developments.
Technopark will provide its residents with the necessary infrastructure and modern laboratories for the development of activities, as well as provide them with financial, marketing, legal and consulting services, as well as business accelerator services.
Technopark will also support start-up projects and help start-ups and small enterprises in the commercialization of innovation results, as well as in attracting investments.
The Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan is the founder of the Directorate of Technopark, which will manage the activities of the new structure.
The project will be financed at the expense of funds received the performance of work on the profile of the Technopark on the basis of economic contracts, as well as grants and loans from international financial institutions. The ICT Development Fund and structural units of Mininfocom will cover the missing part at their own expense.
The ICT Development Fund will also select promising start-up projects of Technopark residents for financing.
Technopark received a number of benefits and preferences until 1 January 2028.
