Several agreements in economic, scientific and health care sectors were signed following the talks of the Presidents of Germany and Uzbekistan held today in Tashkent.
The Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan signed the agreement with Integra and Vamed Engineering on establishment of the Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Therapy Center in Tashkent.
“I am satisfied about results of today’s talks that have become a continuation of our meeting in January 2019 in Berlin,” President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“We have closely considered almost all areas of our bilateral cooperation, including political dialogue, interparliamentary ties, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian cooperation and many other,” the President of Uzbekistan said.
Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Elke Büdenbender are visiting the Republic of Uzbekistan from 27 to 29 May 2019.
The Federal President was welcomed with military honours by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the capital Tashkent. After talks, the Federal President will lay a basket of flowers at the Monument to the Independence of Uzbekistan.
In the afternoon, Federal President Steinmeier will learn more about trade and investment opportunities during a discussion with business people and a tour of a factory. He will discuss current developments in Uzbekistan with representatives of civil society. In the evening, he will meet Uzbek artists and other guests at the Goethe-Institut in Tashkent.
On the last day of his visit, the Federal President will meet students of Urgench State University in western Uzbekistan and visit the historic old town of Khiva.
