Uzbekistan, BPI France ink 300 million euros co-op agreement on energy, agriculture, private sector support and other projects

Uzbekistan’s Fund for Reconstruction and Development (UFRD) and France’s state investment bank BPI France have signed a cooperation agreement, Uzbek media reported.

The document provides for financial support to projects in Uzbekistan for a total amount of 300 million euros.

The funds will be allocated for implementation of promising joint projects in the water supply and sanitation sphere, energy and hydropower, introduction of energy-saving and energy-efficient technologies using alternative energy resources, agriculture, private sector support, environmental protection and sustainable resource management, including municipal solid waste.

The agreement will create favorable conditions for joint investment activities, which in turn will lead to development of mutually beneficial investment and economic ties, as well as strengthen cooperation between the countries.
