Contactless, chip, and other smart cards manufacturing factory with German technology is being planned to be built in Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek United Processing Center (UUPC) and Veridos GmbH (Germany) are partnering to build a 75 million annual capacity high-tech identity document factory in Tashkent.
The factory is expected to market abroad up to 20% of products.
The project will be implemented in Tashkent in 2019-2020 by investors’ own funds and loans.
For the production of microprocessor-based, contactless and other cards, high-tech equipment from leading global manufacturers will be purchased.
The factory will manufacture ID cards (8 million per year), SIM cards (25 million per year), data pages for international passports (6 million per year), bank cards (10 million per year), driving licenses (3 million per year), technical passports of vehicles (3 million per year), health cards (5 million per year), social cards (5 million per year), marriage certificate cards (4 million per year), transport cards (5 million per year ), special cards for military servicemen, civil servants (1 million per year).
The project will be implemented through June 1, 2020 with design and estimate documentation to be prepared simultaneously.
The company will enjoy tax and customs waivers until July 1, 2021.
