Over 100 localities from the country will benefit in the next 5 years from financial assistance for development, worth in total around 20.5 million USD. Support for improving public services, modernize infrastructure and raise local income will be offered within the “My Community” program, launched by USAID.
Prime Minister highlighted the importance for public administration to implicate in developing communities, especially for citizens, who will feel the benefits. This year, people from 20 localities will receive services of better quality, while in the near future 35 communities selected each year will receive support.
“Part of this assistance is meant for infrastructure, certain projects for citizens. We speak of roads, kindergartens, schools, water, sewage – everything developed infrastructure means, to improve the lives of people from our localities” Pavel Filip said.
The official also mentioned that the program will help mayors to become good managers and make public money management more efficient.
“For this program will only be eligible those well-organized, who have certain ideas and visions of development projects”
Here, Prime Minister announced that the program’s objectives match those of the Executive, that launched public administration reform to fortify the capacities of employees in elaborating quality policies.
“A core made out of strong people will bring forth development for our country” Pavel Filip said.
For offering the necessary instruments for the APL’s activity, as well as the constant support Republic of Moldova receives, Prime Minister expressed his gratitude toward partners from USAID, expressing his believe that the support of development partners, as well as permanent dialogue between APC and APL will contribute in overcoming existing difficulties and realize important projects.
From “My Community” program will benefit local public authorities of 1st grade, civil groups and local business environment, who through collaboration will develop communities and will improve the efficiency and availability of public service all over the country. Each infrastructure project foreseen within the program is worth around 500 000 USD.
