“This is an important event that our strategic partner, the United States of America, considers Georgia as a potential hub in the region where the US commercial and economic regional representation should exist – a center, which will provide services in the whole region,” – Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development commented following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for Bilateral Trade Relations Intensification.
According to the Minister, the process of establishing a US commercial representation in Georgia that will serve as a regional office will be launched soon.
The signing of the Memorandum was held following the meeting of the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze and the US Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross. The document was signed between the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the US Department of Commerce. The signing of the Memorandum was held within the framework of the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to the United States.
