US-based manufacturer of medical equipment builds production complex in Lithuania

Hollister, a US-based global manufacturer of medical devices and equipment, is on November 8th launching construction on a 50-million-euro production complex close to Lithuania’s second-biggest city of Kaunas, informs LETA/BNS. The groundbreaking ceremony is attended by Hollister President and CEO George Maliekel and James W. Humphries, senior vice-president for global operations and research and development.

The production facility on the Kaunas free economic area is expected to create around 300 new jobs. Headquartered in Illinois, Hollister has manufacturing and distribution centers on three continents and offices in over 25 countries. It sells products in more than 80 markets around the world.

Founded in 1921, the employee-owned business is a major global developer, manufacturer and marketer of advanced medical products for ostomy care, continence care, critical care and wound care. In Lithuania, Hollister plans to manufacture its ostomy care and continence care products.
