US-based John Deere International, Turkmenistan sign MoU on supply of agricultural equipment

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on socio-economic development of the country.

During the meeting the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Esenmurad Orazgeldiyev spoke about the seasonal field work conducted in the country. Cotton harvesting and planting winter wheat crops is under way, Orazgeldiyev said.

The technical park of the domestic agro-industrial complex is regularly refilled and updated. A relevant memorandum was signed between the government of Turkmenistan and the American company John Deere International Gmbh a day before, the deputy prime minister said.

After hearing the report, Berdimuhamedov commissioned projects to expand existing and build new reservoirs, other hydraulic structures, including desalination plants, as well as introducing modern methods of irrigation for agricultural production, advanced technologies for rational water use, improvement of land reclamation.

President also instructed to accelerate cotton harvest campaign and pay attention to crop storage conditions.
