US-based company to implement joint project with Belarus

The Belarusian Industry Ministry and Gleason Company are considering the possibility of implementing a joint project in the area of machine tools engineering, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Sergei Gunko before an international forum on manufacturing, measuring, and controlling all types of cogwheels began in Minsk on 5 October. The official said: “We are in negotiations with Gleason Company to discuss a joint project that may be implemented at an enterprise in Vitebsk. We would like the Orsha instrument factory to acquire technologies for making gear machining tools.” Sergei Gunko underlined the importance of arranging the forum in Minsk.

“Gleason Company is the leading producer in the sphere of gear machining and mechanical tools engineering. Earlier we agreed to arrange a seminar with technical specialists. Now about 300 people have come to Minsk not only from Belarus but other CIS states and even some European countries,” remarked the Belarusian deputy industry minister. Sergei Gunko stated that gear machining is a technological process that can be found at 90% of all the mechanical engineering companies. Gleason Company presented cutting-edge technologies at the seminar. Participants of the forum on comprehensive gear machining solutions were made familiar with state-of-the-art R&D products in the sphere of gear machining and with software innovations.
