Ukrainian exports to Canada in the first half of 2017 amounted to $22.7 million, which is 76.3% more than in the same period in 2016, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Natalia Mikolskaya said. According to her, the agreement on a free trade zone with Canada started to influence economic relations between the countries even before it fully entered into force.
She noted that for the export to Canada, Ukrainian goods must be certified differently than those, which are exported to Europe. The deputy minister noted that there is also a revival of the import of Canadian goods to Ukraine, in particular, in the sphere of pharmaceuticals and seafood and light industry goods.
