Ukraine to start building EBRD and EIB-funded hydroelectric station

Work is to start in 2019 on Ukraine’s first new hydroelectric station since independence, Kakhovskaya Hydroelectric Power Station No. 2. Located in Kherson region, on the Dnipro River, the station is to be paired with an existing station, completed in 1955.

The new station is to provide 255-270 MW and is to cost EUR 420 million. Much of the funding is to come from the EBRD and the European Investment Bank.
