Ukraine, EIB sign EUR 75 mln loan agreement worth for road safety project

The Government of Ukraine and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a financial agreement to implement the road safety project.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze and Vice-President of the Bank Vazil Hudák in Brussels on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Under the agreement, the EIB will provide a loan worth EUR 75 million for Ukraine to finance the road safety project.

The agreement provides for measures aimed at reducing mortality, injuries in urban areas, reducing the number of accidents, creating safe traffic conditions for road users, improving the comfort of city traffic and other measures aimed at ensuring road safety in Ukraine.

The project is planned to be implemented in the cities of Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Kamianets-Podilskyi.
