Ukraine has climbed six spots and occupies the 78th position out of 167 in the Democracy Index 2019, according to an annual rating compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
According to the data, Ukraine scored 5.90 out of 10 points.
Ukraine’s result in 2019 was 0.21 points better than in 2018, when the country ranked 84th.
Thus, Ukraine has retained the status of a “hybrid democracy.”
Norway, Iceland and Sweden top the rating, and North Korea is at the bottom.
