Ukraine-Austria trade turnover up by 18.5% in 2017

A trade turnover between Ukraine and Austria increased by 18.5% in 2017, and the Ukrainian exports to Austria grew by 48%.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this during a joint press conference with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen in Kyiv.

“In 2017, the trade turnover between our countries increased by 18.5% and reached $1.2 billion. At the same time, the Ukrainian exports to Austria increased by 48%,” Poroshenko said.

According to him, this growth is the result of introduction of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Ukraine and the EU, as well as the Association Agreement.

As reported, President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen was on an official visit to Ukraine on March 13-15.
