Ukraine is going to attract a loan worth $185.5 million from KfW (Germany), which is expected to finance a number of infrastructure projects in the country.
According to the press service of the Ministry of infrastructure, such plans were discussed at the meeting of the Ukrainian part of the joint Ukrainian-German working group on consideration and selection of projects that could be financed with the loan from KfW. Representatives of the infrastructure ministry, Ukrzaliznytsya, the AMPU state enterprise, Kyiv City State Administration, the justice ministry, the foreign ministry, the finance ministry and the ministry on the temporarily occuppied territories and internally displaced citizens.
“Currently, we have three priority project suggestions – the completion of construction of the automobile part of the rail bridge crossing over the Dnipro river in Kyiv, the modernization and renewal of Ukrzaliznytsya’s stock, the construction of a breakwater and dredging in the waters of the Odesa seaport”, – infrastructure minister Volodymyr Omelyan said. He also added that the institution is aware of the capital’s need for the completion of a bridge over the Dnipro.
“I think the German party will support this project. The renewal and modernization of the stock are also among the priorities for Ukrzaliznytsya, and it is economically reasonable”, – V. Omelyan said.
As the result of the meeting, the suggestions are going to be submitted to the Deputy Prime Minister for regional development, construction and public utilities Hennadiy Zubko in order to be submitted to the German party for approval.
