UK Aid supports agricultural development in Moldova’s villages

Moldovan villages of Telica, Speia and Buceni has won the “One Village – One Product” (OVOP) competition, which was held under the project “Strengthening Local Economic Development in Moldova”, funded by the UK Aid Agency. Its a year long project, supported by the Moldovan government.

The wining villages will engage in the cultivation of berry crops. 16-20 households in each village will receive planting material and qualified support, and another 35 – consultations for the development of berry business. The types of berry crops that the residents will cultivate will be selected after additional soil studies.
