The third donors’ coordination meeting was held in Bishkek on June 14, organized by StrategEast jointly with the Kyrgyz Software and Services Developers Association.
A presentation on challenges in the IT industry was presented by Chubak Temirov, the Deputy Director of the High Technology Park of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the new initiatives on the development of the digital economy were shared by Anatoly Motkin, the President of StrategEast.
The participants included representatives of international development agencies, financial institutions, and officials from the USAID, EBRD, the World Bank, US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, UK Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, GIZ, CIPE, and others. They discussed the ways of developing the tech industry, increasing employment and entrepreneurship, IT services and products exports to the international job markets, upgrading soft skills and startup teams’ potentials, integrating innovative solutions into the sector and difficulties arising during all these processes, as well as the roles of private, government and international development agencies in the joint coordination of improving the region’s IT ecosystem.
Participants agreed on having such meetings on a regular basis, exploring cooperation opportunities on the growth and progress of the tech industry in Kyrgyzstan.
