Swiss Camille Bloch entering Georgian market

Swiss chocolate producer Camille Bloch will enter Georgia, announces the government of Georgia.

Georgia will be the first destination of Camille Bloch’s foreign investment, says the government.

The decision was made at the meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Chief Executive Officer of Camille Bloch Daniel Bloch in Davos, Switzerland, at the World Economic Forum, which is taking place on 22-25 January.

Company plans to plant hazelnut plantations in Georgia and use Georgian-made ingredient for its famous trademark chocolate labelled as Ragusa.

“We want to acquire or use the land in Georgia to produce our own hazelnuts. We make very known product called Ragusa … and now we want to produce this chocolate with Georgian hazelnuts. We hope we will find the right land to realise this project,” said Bloch.

Camille Bloch has a track record of 80 years with the production capacity of 3,700 tonnes a year, one quarter of which gets exported.
