During his visit to Tashkent, Anatoly Motkin met with Sherzod Shermatov, Minister for Development of ITC of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and his team.
The parties discussed cooperation plans for the coming year. In particular, digital capacity development training in regional centers of Uzbekistan, assistance to local IT companies in reaching out to international customers; attracting Uzbek startups by StrategEast as part of the BIBAN tech event in Saudi Arabia this March; as well as engaging global tech leaders to develop digital infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
In addition, Mr. Motkin held a meeting with Sultonmurod Rasulov, Head of export department at IT Park Uzbekistan. They discussed the participation of Uzbekistan in the launch of the Californian-based venture fund Catapult Ventures in Central Asia, the assistance of StrategEast in attracting international financial institutions and development agencies to the development of the IT ecosystem of Uzbekistan.
They also discussed cooperation between StrategEast and IT Park in the field of joint work on analytical reports, as well as in promoting Uzbek IT industry in the Gulf region.
