Anatoly Motkin, President of StrategEast, delivered a compelling presentation at the IT Arena Forum Lviv, Ukraine. During his speech, Mr. Motkin highlighted promising new markets for the Ukrainian IT industry, with a primary focus on the Gulf countries, as well as Central Asian and Caucasian regions.
He outlined four key areas of collaboration between Ukrainian IT companies and these regions:
1. Establishment of branches for Ukrainian companies in the Gulf region and IT parks in Central Asian countries, dedicated to providing digital services to the companies from the Gulf.
2. Expansion of Ukrainian startup products into the regional markets, coupled with attracting investments from Gulf countries.
3. Investment in coders training programs within the Gulf, Central Asia, and Caucasus countries, facilitated by development agencies.
4. Provision of consulting services by Ukrainian companies and individual specialists to ministries and state corporations in the Gulf countries, eager to bolster their local IT industries.
Mr. Motkin’s address garnered significant interest from the Ukrainian IT community. Among the questions that resonated most with the audience were inquiries about how small Ukrainian firms can access Gulf markets, the prospects for Ukrainian startups in the region, and considerations for women entrepreneurs when operating in predominantly Muslim areas.
The IT Arena Lviv event marked a significant milestone as the first major IT forum held in Ukraine since the start of full-scale Russian invasion. The forum was organized by Lviv IT Cluster with support from the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and USAID.
