On December 18, Anatoly Motkin, President of StrategEast, conducted a productive working visit to Dushanbe, Tajikistan. During his visit, Mr. Motkin engaged in discussions with the leadership of State Business Incubator of Tajikistan including Dilshod Juraev, CEO, Ravshan Kurbanov, Head of Dushanbe branch and Masrur Ishanov, focusing on the development of the startup ecosystem in the region.
A key outcome of the discussions was the announcement of Tajikistan hosting the next StartupStan event in 2024, set to take place in Dushanbe. The event aims to bring together stakeholders from across Central Asia, fostering dialogue and collaboration to propel technological entrepreneurship in the region. The anticipated participants include government representatives, universities, businesses, corporations, incubators, accelerators, investors, support organizations, and entrepreneurs.
As part of StrategEast’s initiative, finalists from the StartupStan event will gain a unique opportunity to join the prestigious Biban Forum in Saudi Arabia. This forum, a vital hub for SMEs and entrepreneurship development, attracts global stakeholders, offering access to various services and initiatives that catalyze business growth and innovation. Entrepreneurs attending the Biban Forum connect with international investors and financing sources, contributing to economic development on both domestic and international fronts.
In addition to the startup-focused discussions, Anatoly Motkin met with heads of international financial institutions during his visit to explore potential avenues of support for the development of Tajikistan’s IT ecosystem. These discussions underscored the commitment to fostering technological advancements and economic growth in the region.
