On September, 12th StrategEast IT HUB project was officially launched in Baku. The opening ceremony was attended by President of EBRD Odile Renaud-Basso, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov, and Anatoly Motkin.
The project envisages IT training for young Azeris with job offers upon successful graduation, increasing the number of qualified personnel in the IT, creating and directing high-paying job offers sector.
It is aimed at supporting FDI attraction into Azerbaijan and diversification of the country’s economy, namely of Ganja and Nakhichevan regions.
This is the EBRD’s first Technical Cooperation project to be funded through a donor agreement signed between the EBRD and the government of Azerbaijan.
Within the ceremony, President of EBRD has handed over to Anatoly Motkin the certificate supporting the IT HUBS project in Azerbaijan.
