StrategEast hosts online panel on Open Data in Eurasia during COVID-19 pandemic

Open Data projects implemented during the pandemic have reminded again to the Eurasian countries governments on the importance of releasing any possible amount of data for free public access. Most of the local virus spread tracking apps have been developed based on the open data use and some of the vaccines against COVID-19 are being developed on the basis of open data. How can Eurasian countries take a historic chance and make open data a significant component of economic growth and social development? These issues to be discussed on our next StrategEast Live session.

Join us on Wednesday, June 10 at 10:00-11:00 EST (16:00-17:00 CET)

Panel Moderator:

Anatoly Motkin, President of StrategEast

Speakers:

Pavel Koktyshev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Zerde National Infocommunication Holding

Prasanna Lal Das, Lead Program Officer, Open Finances, World Bank

Dr. Juliet McMurren, specialist on open government, SecDev Group

Kateryna Onyiliogwu, Open Data Team Lead, The USAID / UK aid Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services

Among the issues to be discussed on the panel are:

– Are the authorities of Eurasian countries doing enough to provide the local and global IT industry with the use of open data capabilities?

– What projects related to open data implemented in the countries of Eurasia could become interesting benchmarks for the global open data industry?

–  Will Eurasian countries have a more positive attitude towards open data after the pandemic?

After the questions from the moderator, Mr. Motkin will ask the panel members questions that have come from the audience during the panel.
