On November 16, StrategEast center together with the Georgian state agencies Invest in Georgia and Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), organized the webinar “The IT industry moves to Georgia. New opportunities and tax incentives.”
In recent months, the Georgian authorities have created new opportunities for international IT companies with the new tax regime and special economic conditions. The webinar brought together representatives of the Eurasian and global IT industry, interested in learning how to start and run IT business in Georgia and what are the special conditions for foreign IT specialists ’relocation.

Mari Khurtsidze – Head of International Taxation Division, Ministry of Finance of Georgia;

Representatives of Georgian government agencies who spoke at the webinar highlighted the main advantages of doing business in Georgia: its geographical location, a high ranking in major indices regarding ease of doing business, low and simple taxes. They talked about the latest changes in tax legislation, which provides for tax reductions of up to 5 percent for IT companies working for export, about grant programs and opportunities for co-investment in IT companies by the state.
A representative of EPAM, a global IT company that recently launched its operations in Georgia, spoke about job opportunities in the company for Georgian specialists and educational programs available to Georgian youth.
