On September 14, StrategEast in collaboration with the Kyrgyz Software and Services Developers’ Association (KSSDA), successfully held the fourth Donors Coordination Meeting in Kyrgyzstan.
The participants agreed to unite efforts on conducting delivery training for IT companies in Kyrgyzstan, so they reach international markets and employers, with the key focus on reaching regions of the country with the preferences of women-led owners and founders of those organizations; to provide angel accelerated training program for current and prospective angel investors in Kyrgyzstan, adding best practices of global expertise and expanding the investment potential of local startups; to share the list of recommendable startup candidates from Kyrgyzstan to participate in Saudi Arabia’s largest SME and entrepreneurship forum Biban 2024, within a framework of StrategEast and Monsha’at (the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority of KSA) partnership project.
The participants of the coordination meeting included representatives of Accelerate Prosperity, Palladium, USAID’s FGI, the US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), AmCham Kyrgyzstan, GIZ Office Kyrgyzstan, EBRD in Kyrgyz Republic, High Technology Park of Kyrgyz Republic, ADB Kyrgyz Republic, Center for Digitalization and Marketing “AgroSmart” under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyz Republic, UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic and the UK Embassy in Bishkek.
Donor coordination meetings are held every three month. The purpose of the meetings is to coordinate actions between donors and increase funding for the development of the IT industry in Kyrgyzstan. Such gatherings aim for further cooperation between development agencies and international financial institutions in their joint efforts of IT industry developement.
