StrategEast held the final workshop in a “Build With AI for Sustainable Growth” series

The final workshop in the series, hosted by StrategEast in partnership with Google and supported by USAID’s Future Growth Initiative, took place online on September 14, bringing together leading experts in AI, sustainability, and startup business models. Moderated by Aisuluu Kozhomkulova, Regional Director for Central Asia at StrategEast, the workshop marked a significant milestone in preparing participants from Central Asia and the Caucasus for the upcoming event in Astana in early October 2024.

The sessions covered a range of vital topics, focusing on adapting climate policies, mastering startup pitches, and implementing practical AI models.

Led by Adham Zokhirov, Google Developer Expert in AI/ML and AI Team Lead at Mohirdev AI Technical: From Data to Decisions: Simple AI Model using Vertex A session demonstrated how to develop and deploy simple AI models using Vertex AI. The presentation offered practical insights into data-driven decision-making processes and highlighted AI’s transformative potential in various sectors.

Eva Bille, Director at Hill & Knowlton and an expert in EU policy, provided an in-depth analysis of European climate strategies and their adaptation potential in Central Asia and the Caucasus. Eva’s session underscored the importance of transitioning from a climate crisis mindset to a circular economy approach, aligning with the EU’s ambitious climate goals.

Led by Gauthier Vasseur, Executive Director at Berkeley Fisher Center, CEO and Founder of Data Wise Academy, and Founder and Co-President of the Alliance for Inclusive AI, Startup Business Models – Mastering Your Pitch session focused on crafting compelling pitches and confidently addressing complex questions. Participants learned essential skills for presenting their startup ideas with clarity and impact.

With the conclusion of this workshop series, the next step for participants is the event in Astana, Kazakhstan, in mid-October 2024. The event will bring together the best pitches from across Central Asia and the Caucasus to showcase their innovative solutions.
