Speaking at the StrategEast State and IT Eurasian Forum, Jonathan Tower, General Partner at Catapult VC, a global seed-stage venture capital platform from Palo Alto, CA, USA, presented a new venture fund that will invest in startups from Central Asia.
Mr. Tower believes Central Asia is capable of becoming a dominant tech hub for the broader region: “We are announcing the fund for Eurasia called Catapult Eurasia I. It is formed to leverage our deep relationships in Central Asia to fund startups from the region and startups that have a clear interest in the region as well. The Fund is a collaboration between Catapult and startup accelerator USMAC.”
According to Mr. Tower, Catapult will apply its investment expertise while USMAC will provide deal origination and mentorship in the region.
