On their visit to Richmond, StrategEast Young Leaders met with Jason de la Cruz from Dominion Energy and representatives from a Virginia Dominion Power for a discussion about energy legislation and private sector in the US.
The participants also took a tour of Virginia State Capitol, which is the seat of state government of the Commonwealth of Virginia, located in Richmond and houses the oldest elected legislative body in North America – the Virginia General Assembly.
Yet another unusual location was visited by StrategEast Young Leadership Program delegates – the Henrico County Jail. In Virginia, sheriffs are elected and oversee the jails in their respective counties. The corrections system in Henrico County is one of the most highly ranked systems in the Commonwealth.
