Norwegian company Scatec Solar to help build 50 MW solar power plant in Ukraine’s Kherson region

The construction of a solar power plant in Kherson region is set to begin in March 2019.

Head of Kherson Regional State Administration Andriy Hordeyev discussed this during a meeting with representatives of Atlas Capital Energy LLC on Wednesday, the press service of Kherson Regional State Administration reported.

“During the conversation, the parties discussed the start of construction of a solar power plant with a total capacity of 50 MW in Holoprystansky district. The construction is set to begin in March 2019. The project is implemented at the expense of private foreign investors,” the report says.

Kherson Regional State Administration recalled that Atlas Capital Energy LLC was founded by the Norwegian company Scatec Solar for the development of solar energy in Kherson region. A memorandum of cooperation on the implementation of renewable energy projects in Kherson region was signed between Kherson Regional State Administration and Atlas Capital Energy LLC.

As of today, 5 wind power plants and 31 solar power plants with a capacity of 294.1 MW in Kherson region were put into operation. USD 10 billion in investments was attracted.
