Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with Nokia Vice President Markus Borchert on the sidelines of the Astana Economic Forum.
They have discussed use of hi-tech solutions for development of digital economy and industry, introduction of the latest innovative technologies, reduction of digital inequality, provision of high-speed Internet in economic sectors and social sphere.
Opening of the Nokia office in Astana scheduled for July 2018 was discussed among other issues.
Nokia is interested in development of 5G network in Kazakhstan as part of the government program “Digital Kazakhstan”. Commercial development of 5G network is expected to start in 2019.
Markus Borchert voiced their recommendations and suggestions on development of 5G network in Kazakhstan.
