Natalia Petrova appointed as CEO of StrategEast

StrategEast has appointed  Natalia Petrova as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

Natalia, who spent the last seventeen years of her professional career working for the U.S. Mission in Ukraine, started her new position in January.

Her appointment was revealed by StrategEast President  Anatoly Motkin on Tuesday during the Annual Advisory Board meeting.
Prior to this, she served as the Portfolio Manager (SME development, trade, competitiveness, investment) in the Office of Economic Growth of USAID Ukraine. In her role at USAID, she managed complex technical assistance projects since 2016, overseeing technical implementation of contracts to strengthen SME competitiveness in Ukraine, including a dynamic tech sector, by improving the business enabling environment, implementing activities to support higher value-added sectors, increasing efficient trade, promoting Ukraine investment potential. Natalia was responsible for coordinating development work with the internal Agency stakeholders, Ukraine government counterparts, donor organizations and IFIs, private sector, and business support organizations.

From 2010-2016, Natalia managed in-country implementation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture technical assistance programs to help Ukrainian farmers, scientists and academia to embrace best international practices.

Natalia said: “I spent most of my professional life in international development, so I am looking forward to being a part of an organization that is looking to improve people’s lives in their home countries and allow them to fulfill their talent, and at the same time to strengthen StrategEast’s capacity to deliver impactful results through its activities.”
