Moldova to receive $20 million from World Bank on government services modernization

Government services will be upgraded and digitized. A financing agreement between Moldova and the International Development Association and a loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development were ratified by parliament today.

The documents set out the grant of two loans, one of 15 million dollars, offered by the International Development Association and another of 5 million dollars, offered by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to carry out the project “Modernizing government services”. Both financial institutions are part of the World Bank Group.

The implementation of the government service modernization project will help merge existing services and access to local public services through digital channels. At the same time, the number of documents and the duration of public service delivery will be reduced.

The deadline for project implementation is 3 June 2023 and will be conducted through the Electronic Governance Center.
