World leading Swiss rail company Stadler Rail AG will construct a carriage-building and repair plant in the outskirts of Tbilisi, the government of Georgia has reported.
The new plant will equip the Georgian Railway and the Tbilisi metro with rolling stocks and will also export its product.
The Stadler President Peter Spuhler met with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili today in Tbilisi to discuss the planned works.
The company expressed its desire to enter Georgia’s market last summer and signed an agreement with the Georgian Ministry of Economy.
Three locations in the outskirts of Tbilisi are being discussed as the possible venue for the new facility.
