Ivane Machavariani, Minister of Finance of Georgia has been awarded the StrategEast Westernization Award for introduction of special tax regime for IT companies and contribution to the IT industry development in Georgia.
The award handover ceremony was held on March, 25 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The Minister expressed his gratitude for the award, emphasized the importance of developing the IT industry for the Georgian economy. According to the Minister, the special tax regime for IT companies in Georgia has already paid off – almost every day several companies apply for the special status of an “international IT company”.
StrategEast Westernization Award was established in 2018 and is awarded to emphasize the significant contributions of politicians, business representatives, and civil activists in creating closer ties between this region and the Western World. It is presented in 6 categories: Economic Westernization, Political Westernization, Legal Westernization, Westernization of Lifestyle, Language and Culture Westernization, and Lifetime Achievement.
