Irish company builds a photovoltaic power plant in Belarus

Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Chief Executive Officer at Ireland’s Pure Energy Torsten Merkel on 4 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Torsten Merkel updated the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs on the progress made in the construction of the 109MW photovoltaic power plant to produce electric energy in Cherikov District, Mogilev Oblast.

The Irish investor has already implemented a number of renewable energy projects in Belarus. The sides discussed the experience of implementing projects in the green energy sector and prospects for the development of renewable energy sources in Belarus.
