The Irish company Altostrata intends to invest $274 million in the construction of a solar power station in the Dnipro region.
“President Petro Poroshenko has set out the task to attract investment and to ensure comfortable conditions for business activities. The government green-lights alternative energy projects. Irish investors have decided to invest in the construction of a solar power station”, – the head of the Dnipro regional state administration Valentyn Reznichenko said at the signing ceremony on Thursday.
A 250 MWt solar power station is planned to be built on a 500-hectar area near Levadka, Pavlogradsky district and commissioned within two years. The station is expected to provide electricity to over 40 thousand of households and corporations, which is comparable to the energy consumption of the city of Pavlograd.
“We are highly interested in cooperation with Ukraine. We begin our partnership in the Dnipro region, where we have gained the support of the Investment-innovation center of the Dnipro regional state administration. An efficient system that encourages investment has been created here”, – the managing director of Altostrata Torsten Merkel, adding that almost 450 jobs will be created.
According to the deputy head of the Dnipro regional state administration Oleh Kuzhman, a few alternative energy projects have recently been implemented in the area of alternative energy. Particularly, solar power stations are already operating in Podhorodniy and Nikopol.
The Irish company Altostrata is engaged in renewable energy production and operates in countries of America and Europe.
