Industry in Kazakhstan grows by 5.1%

Industry in Kazakhstan has grown by 5.1% with mining industry making the biggest contribution to the growth, National Economy Minister Timur Suleimenov said at the government meeting.

Mining industry output grew by 5.4% supported by 6.1% growth in oil production, 6.4% increase in gas production, 7.4% in production of iron ore. Processing industry reportedly grew by 4.9%.

Machine building has the highest growth of 16% achieved due to car making (+58.5%), electric equipment production (+47.2%), electronic production (+45.7%).

Agricultural output grew by 3.5%.
