Icelandic developer of visual identification solutions Videntifier set to open R&D center in Lithuania

Videntifier, an Icelandic developer of visual search and identification solutions, is set to open its R&D center in Vilnius.

Videntifier’s founder and CEO Herwig Lejsek does not rule out Vilnius becoming the company’s main R&D center in a couple of years, the government’s foreign investment promotion agency said in a press release.

“We also hope to work closely with local universities by partnering with their research labs and offer young scientists a chance to intern and learn about our technologies during their master and PhD studies,” it quoted Lejsek as saying.

Videntifier plans to hire eight professionals at the Vilnius center by the end of the year and to add another 20 or so employees to the staff in the next several years. The opening date is yet to be announced.

The company was founded in 2008.
