IBM and Uzbekistan’s IT Ministry discussed joint projects

On 11 October, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan (Mininfocom) hosted a meeting with the regional director for business development in the CIS countries of IBM. The parties discussed issues of establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of digital transformation, introduction of IBM innovative solutions in the financial sector, education, healthcare, telecommunications and other industries, the press service of the Mininfocom said.

Also, the development of IBM (Watson) in the field of artificial intelligence was presented. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in implementation of joint projects.

Within the framework of the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the US on 18-20 September 2017, the delegation of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications visited the IBM Watson Center in New York and familiarized themselves with solutions based on the use of cognitive technologies and tools of the IBM Watson.

As a result of the meeting between the Mininfocom and IBM, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in sphere of joint development of initiatives on digital transformation of the economy, public administration and social sphere in Uzbekistan was signed.
