Twenty-five agreements and contracts, as well as three memorandums for over US$800 million were signed within the International Investment Forum in Jizzakh.
The forum was organized by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Investments and the Jizzakh regional khokimiyat. Representatives of 175 foreign companies such as Shell Global Solutions INTL BV, Fives Group – Fives Stein, Huasin Cement, CIRI, DAL Teknik Makina Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Sirketi, Bay Tea Group and others took part in a large-scale investment event in Jizzakh region.
At the same time, the share of foreign direct investment is more than US$600 million, the press service of the State Committee for Investments of Uzbekistan said.
The package of concluded agreements and memorandums is aimed at developing cooperation in such areas as production of building materials, modern medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, ready-made leather and leather goods, production and processing of agricultural crops, food, dairy and textile products, a number of projects in the field of transport and hotel infrastructure, renewable energy, chemical industry.
Uzcharmsanoat Association within the framework of the investment forum has concluded 5 investment agreements on organization of production of finished leather (full cycle of processing) and bags and accessories from leather and other materials with the Turkish company Mader Deri San. Ve Tic., for processing of wool with NPP Paxtamash KB, for production of medicines with the Indian company Infinity Group and an investment agreement on organization of a number of production capacities for production of aerated concrete in the regions of Uzbekistan between three foreign companies – the Indian Agio Group (India), Turkish Ercanlar Matbaacilik Ambalaj Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi and German Wehrhahn GMBH.
Uzkimyosanoat and the Korean company LG International signed a framework agreement for the production of biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP) used for packaging of industrial products and food products, perfumes and household chemicals, tobacco products.
In the sphere of social support and health protection of the local population of Jizzakh and Jizzakh region, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the German company VAMs GmbH signed an agreement on implementation of the investment project in the field of nephrologic and hemodialysis care for the population.
The State Committee for Tourism Development signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of infrastructure projects with Beijing Jiufang Grang Move Transportation Equipment Co.Ltd and the German-Chinese Cultural Exchange Association in the field of art and design (DSCD).
Also, with the khokimiyat of the city of Jizzakh and the Chinese company and DSCD, a preliminary agreement on the implementation of projects in the field of transportation services and hotel construction was signed.
Six investment agreements were signed between the district khokimiyats of Jizzakh region with the Chinese company Heangshui Decheng Machinery and Equipment Co. Ltd, aimed at implementation of the creation of brick and cement plants, establishment of basalt production, construction of the hotel, as well as greenhouses for cultivation of fruit and vegetable products and poultry.
During the organized negotiations in B2G and B2B format within the framework of the investor forum, some agreements were reached.
In particular, an agreement was signed on establishment of a plant for production of cement with BIZNES CZ S.R.O (Czech Republic).
Belalek Group (Belarus) and Zomin Pharm signed a general agreement on establishment of a center for development of new medicines against the virus.
The Israeli company VP Agriculture Projects LTD will share its experience in growing agricultural products within the framework of a written project to create a modern greenhouse complex in Yangiabad district of Jizzakh region.
A contract for the production of concrete and asphalt was signed with the Tajik company Prommontazh. The project is planned to be implemented in the Rashidov district of Jizzakh region.
Turkish agricultural cooperative S.S. Bademli Fidancilik Tarimsal Kalkinma Kooperatifi and the regional khokimiyat of Bakhmal district signed a memorandum on establishment of nurseries for the cultivation of virus-free fruit and grape seedlings.
A memorandum of cooperation on organization of tea and tea production was signed with the Chinese Research and Production Center for the Development of Tea Production.
Khokim of Jizzakh region Ergash Saliyev said it is planned to implement 25 regional and 14 branch projects involving foreign investments for a total of more than US$1 billion in the region in 2018-2019.
