German industrial company interested in projects in Uzbekistan

A delegation of Siemens headed by the President of the company in Russia and Central Asia Dietrich Möller visited Uzbekistan on 9-10 October. According to Siemens, the delegation held meetings with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and partners of the company. The parties discussed current and future joint projects in the energy, industrial and other sectors.

The delegation of Siemens held meeting with the first deputy chairman of the Uzbekneftegaz NHC Ulugbek Sayidov. The sides discussed issues of further technological partnership and construction of a plant for production of synthetic liquid fuels in Kashkadarya region. Technologies of the German firm can also be used in the expansion project of the Shurtan gas chemical complex.

Representatives of Siemens held negotiations with representatives of Uzbekenergo. In particular, the issues of modernization of the Syrdarya thermal power station, possibility of using Smart Grid technologies in the country’s electricity grid and development of wind energy were discussed. During the meeting with officials of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways), cooperation in the field of railway track automation, as well as the project of automation of the sorting station “Chukursai” was discussed.

“We consider Uzbekistan as a promising market and intend to develop cooperation with partners not only in the energy sector, but also in the field of industrial production, transport, automation and security of buildings. All these areas of cooperation are reflected in the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation signed with the Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Investments in Berlin in July 2017, during the German-Uzbek Business Forum,” Dietrich Möller said.
