AL-KO Vehicle Technology, German manufacturer of trailer and automotive chassis components, will shortly establish its new center for development of automotive and trailer chassis components in Lithuania’s second-largest city Kaunas, reports LETA/BNS.
“We chose Kaunas due to the rapidly growing automotive component manufacturing cluster. Seeing its development and how Kaunas municipality and the city’s universities are interested in the cluster, we believe that this location will become one of the centers for the future automotive industry and we want to be here as early as possible,” Dr. Frank Sager, AL-KO’s senior vice-president for research and development, said in a press release.
The company said it would employ a team of 30 professionals in the coming three years in place developing the company’s products, with the first ten professionals to be hired shortly. Currently, AL-KO Vehicle Technology is represented on all continents of the globe – with a total of 2,400 employees and over 40 production locations, sales companies and around 1,000 service stations. AL-KO Vehicle Technology is part of the German- and US-capital company DexKo Global.
