Georgian and European aviation agencies deepen cooperation

Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have signed a new agreement to deepen technical cooperation and better integrate Georgian aviation authorities into the EASA system and implement European aviation regulations in Georgia.

The agreement also envisages the interaction between experts of the GCAA and EASA and participation of the employees of the GCAA in EASA council meetings.

Officials from the EASA praised progress achieved by Georgia in terms of improving flight safety. Audit results by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) showed Georgia had made significant improvements and the country’s involvement in the European Union’s Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) program.
