“I would like to congratulate the Government of Georgia on its success in the Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) study, conducted by the World Bank, through which it has been included in the list of the top reformer countries,” stated Sebastian Molinues, the World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, after the meeting with the Georgian Finance Minister Ivane Matchavariani, noting that Georgia has demonstrated progress in all core criteria.
“We consider the governance indicators as a theme of vital importance. Through them we assess the efficiency of the operation of state institutions, management of the country, the decision-making process, economic analysis of the these decisions, as well as their possible influence on citizens and delivery of services to society. We see that Georgia has very good results in this direction. Georgia is certainly a top reformer country in terms of improvements and progressive steps. We are proud to be a partner and supporter of Georgia in the implementing of new reforms. We are pleased to be able to help the country in strengthening such major directions as: political stability, absence of violence, efficiency of government, supremacy of law, as well as accountability,” stated Molineus.
